Why patients consider China for hematology & CAR-T

Hematology covers blood disorders and blood cancers such as lymphoma, leukemia and multiple myeloma. Many international inquiries in this field are about CAR-T cell therapy, a personalized immunotherapy made from the patient's own T cells.

In China, CAR-T is offered either as a product approved by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) or within a registered clinical trial. Horcare only coordinates access through those two routes. Eligibility — which depends on the diagnosis, previous treatment lines and the patient's current condition — is decided by the hospital's hematology team.

CAR-T usually requires a stay of several weeks near the treating hospital for work-up, cell collection, manufacturing, infusion and monitoring, so early planning with the family matters.

China's strengths in hematology & CAR-T

  • Approved products. The NMPA has approved several CAR-T products for specific B-cell lymphomas, leukemia and multiple myeloma indications.
  • Clinical research activity. China runs a large number of registered cell-therapy trials; trial participation always depends on the trial's own criteria.
  • Large hematology departments. Major Grade 3A hospitals in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Wuhan run hematology departments experienced in transplant-level supportive care.
