Patient Stories: Real Experiences of Treatment in China
These are real accounts from international patients and families whose care in China Horcare helped coordinate, each published only with the patient's written consent. Horcare coordinates care and is not a medical provider; treatment decisions and outcomes belong to the treating hospital.
How Horcare publishes patient stories
Real patients only
Every story is from a patient or family we coordinated.
Written consent first
Consent is on file before anything is published.
Patient-approved text
The patient or family reviews the final text.
Alias by default
No identifying photos without separate consent.
Never paid for
If anything of value were given, the story says so.
We edit for length and grammar only, never the medical facts or the outcome. We do not publish star ratings, rankings or success rates. Who we are.
Story library
We are collecting consented stories from recent patients and will publish them here as they are approved. In the meantime, see how coordination works, step by step, or request a free case review.
We will not fill this space with sample or invented testimonials.
What a coordinated journey for medical tourism in China usually involves
Most patient stories follow the same five stages. Family members are often the ones making decisions, and they are part of every stage.
- 01
Free case review
Medical reports reviewed and a personal reply within a defined time.
- 02
Specialty-first matching
Hospital and department chosen for the condition, not for the hospital’s fame.
- 03
Travel and arrival
A dedicated coordinator and medical interpreters from arrival onward.
- 04
Treatment
Every clinical decision is made by the hospital.
- 05
Follow-up at home
Translated records and continued contact with the treating team.
Hospital bills are paid directly to the hospital with no Horcare markup; Horcare's service fee is quoted in writing before any paid work. How payment works.
Our patient story consent policy
- What we need before publishing
- Separate written consent for the story text; for showing the country and condition; and for any photo or video. The patient or legal guardian signs. For children, a parent or guardian consents, and a child's face is never shown without explicit, separate approval.
- What we never publish
- Full names, passport details, medical record numbers or exact treatment dates. Treating doctors are named only if they have also agreed in writing. Health data is handled as sensitive personal information under the privacy laws that apply.
- How to edit or remove a story
- Patients can ask for edits or removal at any time, through the free case review page or the contact channels on this site.
- Honesty rules
- No paid testimonials, no edits to medical facts, and no composite or made-up patients. Results described are individual, not typical or guaranteed.
Reading these stories responsibly
Each story describes one person's experience; it is not a prediction of your outcome. Outcomes depend on diagnosis, stage and overall health. Eligibility for any treatment, including approved cell therapies or registered clinical trials, is decided by the hospital. Our medical disclaimer.

Patient stories: frequently asked questions
Are the patient stories on this page real?
Yes. Each one comes from a patient or family whose care Horcare coordinated, published with written consent and the patient's approval of the final text. Horcare never uses composite or invented testimonials.
How should I read reviews of medical tourism in China?
Treat any review as one person’s experience. Check that it names the condition and treatment, and look for a published consent or disclosure policy. Results vary, and the treating hospital decides on treatment.
Is medical treatment in China safe for foreigners?
Major public hospitals in China run international departments for foreign patients, and safety depends largely on matching the right hospital department to the condition. Horcare does not make clinical judgments; the hospital does.
Were patients paid or given discounts to share their stories?
No. Stories are not paid for. If anything of value were ever given, the story would say so.
Can I remove or change my story after it is published?
Yes, at any time. Contact the team through the free case review page or the contact channels listed on this site, and Horcare will edit or take the story down.
